The Crazy eight has made a hidden cubbyhouse in the hidden woods of their school’s out of bounds area. The boys decided to name it the Mad House because in this house they are all able to do wild things such as smoking and drinking without getting caught. One day at night while the crazy eight were having a lot of fun smoking, they were caught red handed by the first years! Early next morning they were called to Sparerib’s (head master) office where they were told their punishment. Everybody was on their LAST warning and was suspended for three weeks but for Rambo and Mad dog who were both on their last warning a few months ago, the two were expelled from the school.

Without Rambo and Mad dog the Crazy six was getting beat up by the first years and when Rambo heard about it he was so angry and decided to write to the school on how Spare rib was treating him unfairly and soon Rambo was back in school and Sparerib was kicked out because he was being unfair towards Rambo.

Spud is one of the best books I read because this book is able to make me laugh. I find it fascinating

Spud will soon no longer be Spud, Puberty has finally hit him! Even though this is one of the greatest things that could happen to him, his singing career might be over for him due to the breaking of his voice and also because Julian is no longer head of music, for this year’s school play John had to play a dove which only came on to stage once, compared to last year’s lead role in Oliver. Every time John tries to sing or speak his voice goes really high pitch and croaky. Luckily in the term holiday he was able to escape and travel to England with his family and grandma (Wombat). While John was in England he was fortunate enough to go see the Phantom of Opera.  His mother was having such a good time in England that she started looking for houses but John and his dad refused to stay in England.  After checking out some houses that were in their price range, Spud’s mum knew that England was not the right place for her to stay and decided to go back to England.

John is back in school, what will happen next?

(Part 1)

John Milton (spud) has returned to school for another year of craziness with the crazy eight. John Milton and his friends are now second years meaning that they have to take responsibility of the first years. On their first night the crazy eight crashed into the first year’s bedroom and said it was time to give them all nick names. Three boys, two of them called Michael and another called Mark all looked very similar, so they were named the three Darryls.  There was also a boy who looked just like an actor from Dallas so John named him JR Ewing. The others were named Runt, Spike and Thinny . Altogether they were known as the Normal seven.  Johns girlfriend mermaid decided to enter a local beauty pageant hoping to keep her mind off her parents recent divorce. But after winning it she seems to be open to many more new things, soon she discovers a hot beach boy and breaks it off with Spud. Now Spud has to try win her back or find somebody else .

After getting use to everything and finally fitting in she makes new friends and catches up with her college friend Jennie, who also works at the same place. She also falls in love with James, another worker in the bank together they become very close but after a trip to Spain to meet her parents he starts acting really strange, like not picking up phone calls from her and ignoring her emails. Holly soon discovers that James has been cheating on her with her college friend Jennie. One Day her college ex boyfriend Toby, turns up at her work. Toby has finally found Holly and is begging for her to come back to him. Will Holly discover the secret that her mother has kept for so many years and go back to Toby?

This book is one of my favourite books; it’s formatted so that everything looks like an email. Holly’s Inbox is actually a true story about the author.

Sofia and her mother both come from Italy and now live in Australia for a better life.

When Sofia’s mum came to Australia she had to leave her Cousin Rosa who was just like a sister to her, at the same time Rossa’s mother passed away so it was a lot for her to take in, that’s why Sofia has to treat her mum extra well, even if it means you have to go to the homecoming with your cousin.

In school Mr. Burns her business management teacher has told them to start their own small business and to start earning some money. Her friend ship group’s leader Clancy decides to start a dating agency which Sofia totally disagrees with but cant do anything about it. Because Clancy is the beautiful and popular one while Sofia is only a tag along who isn’t as pretty as Clancy.

Jane Harris is the cartoonist from the New York Journal. She’s going to Italy as the Bridesmaid for her best friend Holly. Since Holly brought Jane to Italy it was only far for her husband to be to bring his best friend Cal Langdon. This was seriously hate at first sight. Cal thinks that Jane is crazy about marriage, love and her little note book( it’s this note book where she writes down what ever is happens, she’d even write down the conversation that she is having right on the spot.) While she thinks Cal is a love hater who doesn’t believe in marriage just because he was dumped on his first anniversary. But when things go all bad and the marriage isn’t able to proceed Jane and Cal are put to the test to help their beloved friends and soon they find love between them. So their best friends get married and they both find their other half.

Meg Cabot

Another story from the number one New York Times bestselling author, Meg Cabot has yet written another wonderful book called The Boy next door.

This story is about a young red hair called Mel Fuller who works for the New York Journal. Recently her neighbo r, Mrs. Friedlander was attacked so no one was able to look after her dog. Mel fuller finally tracks down the only relative of Mrs. Friedlander Max Friedlander who is a famous photographer and her nephew. Unfortunately Max wasn’t able to make it back to New York because he was on a holiday with one of the top models, so instead he told his friend John Trent to go under cover as Max.  Soon John Trent(Max) and Mel get really close and soon fall in love but John knows that everything going to fall apart when she finds out that he’s not who she really think he is.

This book was very entertaining to read even though sometimes all the confused me, but I was happy enough to go back through the pages and re read to find out the names.

I thought that this book was a very interesting and powerful. It showed how peer pressure can still effect you when you get older and the only way to defeat it, is to believe in yourself and do what’s best for you and not for what others think of you.
